Pricing and coverage at a glance
Gusto's pricing looks lower per employee but includes a base platform fee ($40-$80/month) on top. One Global Payroll charges $26 per employee with no base fee, making total costs comparable or lower for global teams.
Our honest take
Gusto has built one of the best small business payroll platforms in the US. Their interface is intuitive, their US payroll features are excellent, and they have started expanding internationally with coverage in over 100 countries through partnerships.
However, Gusto's roots are firmly in US payroll. Their global capabilities are newer and built on top of their domestic platform rather than designed for international payroll from the ground up. If you have a primarily US-based team with some international employees, Gusto can work. But if global payroll is your main requirement, a purpose-built provider like One Global Payroll gives you deeper compliance expertise and broader direct coverage.
One Global Payroll covers 150+ countries from $26 per employee per month, and through our partnerships, we also offer EOR and contractor management.
Our recommendation: Choose One Global Payroll if you need deep global payroll capabilities across many countries. Choose Gusto if your team is primarily US-based and you value their polished domestic payroll experience.
